Waba isn't a reader but when she does or has time in her schedule, she enjoys the knowledge and new vocabulary that comes along with reading. In my opinion I think people read because of three main reasons. One, the sound of silence and peace that comes with the environment of reading. Two, to escape the world and go into another world by reading another story and to forget about situations or escape the feeling of being bored. Third, exercising the mind and expanding your vocabulary. People learn to read when they first start school as a child, they slowly progress from words to sentences to paragraphs. For an individual to become a "good" reader is being able to read a book in a time limit and to comprehend all of the information. Reading is easy for Waba because of practice and her difficulties in reading is comprehension of the knowledge of what she read. Most of the time She does not get to read at home because of her schedule but she is trying to work on reading more outside of school. Waba thinks reading in general is very peaceful, entertaining, and good for exercising your brain.
Waba is a writer, even though at occasions it takes her awhile to begin writing. She learned how to write because of school and her mother taught her other ways to write and improve. For someone to write well, you would have to have correct punctuation and spelling and you would have to obtain a wide variety of vocabulary to help explain what your writing. Waba loves to write poems mostly about different subjects, how she decides to write about things is what shes going through or catches inspiration from beautiful objects or what's in her environment.
