What I learned this week is to always try your hardest even if everything around you is falling apart. These past weeks I have been reading The Handmaids Tale, i honestly loved the book if i could have read other books and explored my options i wouldn't like the book but I do i absolutely love it. Maybe only because in my past life i never read a full book i would always stop in the middle and quit because it was either too challenging or I had no motivation to read the rest. My whole life I have always thought that reading was irrelevant and a waste of my time but these weeks in my class I have a new perspective because my eyes have finally been opened by my teacher. I never had a teacher that would care and put passion into his or her teaching and that inspires me. If you googled 'Trying' it would come up with a definition " hard to endure." That was my challenge with this book because I didn't put time and effort into reading it because everything else around me was falling apart but i still pushed through these weeks to push to my goal, graduation. I learned that if you actually try and put your mind to what ever you want to do, anything is possible. Trying counts.

What I learned in my English class this week was shared leadership and how important it is. having a shared leadership gives everyone a voice other than being dictated by the dictator which could be the state or one person. I honestly do think that our lesson relates to what is happening today. Donald J. Trump is our new president of the united states, i respect that he is now our commander and chief but his choices for our country are selfish. Trump is only thinking about himself when he makes decisions and he doesn't think about how the whole country could be affected by his actions. WIthout shared leadership our nation could fall apart. I only hope that our president can change the viewpoint of his decisions before our nation falls apart.
You don't get something from doing nothing. That sentence speaks loud to me, even though i'm exhausted from doing things at home while also trying to do things for my future, you don't get that something from doing nothing. Hard work and dedication is what i learn the most this week and god does it feel amazing when you finish because you know to yourself that you worked your absolute hardest and accomplished it. I read a book i choose in a week, i've never done that EVER in my entire life. it was pretty hard to read the book though cause it felt as if i had no time, i had to read on the bus i ride to alma and sometimes before bed after a long day of taking care of my younger brothers or working out and doing other homework from my college class. i wanted to just give up and sparks note it but i was told from someone, you don't get something from doing nothing. I found that something deep within myself and i worked hard to strive for it. My something is to graduate high school with great grades but to also have fun while doing it because we all only live once and we need to take advantage of the time we have to have fun while it's still in our reach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3OLoaKu5a8 This week in my english 12A class, I got the chance to learn about paths. Our teacher had us as a class look at different pictures of paths and see just how they are all similar in some ways. Most of our class came up with ideas such as, one path can lead to another, paths can cross other paths, etc. This was all just a quick group assignment at first then our teacher switched the sentencing to "paths to life." It just made so much sense, our teacher related it to how after high school when all of our fellow students may not cross paths and we may take our own or how after high school our paths may cross and we will see past friends or students that we once had in highschool classes. These statements are all true and its somewhat scary honestly to think that we all most likely won't see each other after high school but it's also somewhat of a relief that you're finally done with high school and you can finally grow and become a responsible adult and make or learn your own lessons from your own mistakes.
These past two weeks have been a fantastic learning experience, i learned about ‘Wevideo’ and how to edit videos. I never really edited videos before so my experience in that field is not so good. I also learned many things about creative writing and the power of story by telling my own story. We are also starting a project to where we edit our own video and tell our own stories that lead to our beliefs, even if it’s personal you have to try to be as detail as you can be but also be comfortable with what you're saying. I learned that you have your own voice and it can make a big impact on anyone, just one story can save someone’s life or even save them from being in a situation. I enjoy this class, it has new learning experiences everyday, even with the poems our teacher reads in the beginning of the day to the actual lesson. This class is helpful because its growing my mind and having me think of things that i have never thought of before. I am also writing more on my own and reading more than i used to because it give me peace when i zone out while reading or writing. This week we learned more about the power of story and how it can affect others who are listening to the story. Everyone's story matters and putting it in your own story can help others listening connect to the story. Also in this week we learned about writing and how creative writing is deeper than the surface. I also learned personally that if you just "let go" as you’re writing you will get the rawest feelings instead of trying to focus on editing. Our class this week did a free writing, this is how I experienced firsthand, you just zone in on what you are writing and you forget about everything else around you. I have changed my thought about writing because of this class and the way the teacher is different from others, if you truly think about writing it’s another form of telling your own story. The fact that writing is another form of storytelling interest me a lot because I’ve always enjoyed telling friends, family, and others my personal life stories. Diving deeper into what storytelling and writing actually is has increased my perspectives on writing, as I have always thought that it was boring. Writing more helped me to understand that it is not boring, but instead allows me an outlet to talk about my personal experiences. These are just the few of the reasons why I enjoy reading and writing more and why this class has helped me become a better story teller and reader overall. Can people live up to high ideals?
The choice is yours when it comes to living up to higher ideals. In the wife of baths tale the old lady wants to live at higher ideal and to her that is marriage, she soon gets her wish. Higher ideals are in reality as well because we all seek to find what makes us the most happy, As an example I have high ideal of living and education. The choices I make are what get me to the higher ideal. Yes, in my opinion i think people can live up to higher ideals because everything is possible. The moral of the story is that the men found death under the tree because they brought it upon themselves. They found death because they planed death to each other.
The Protagonist of the novel “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien is Bilbo Baggins. The Main conflicts in this Novel are the Adventures of Bilbo, Gandalf, and their dwarf friends. They all are on an adventure to find an accent treasure but there is a dragon that protects the treasure in the cave that Bilbo and his friends soon discover. On their journey to the cave in the mountain they face different obstacles. In the Beginning of the novel, I have read about how a hobbit lives and what his or her characteristics are. Gandalf visits Bilbo and leaves a mark on his door as he leaves, that following week is when dwarfs start to arrive at Bilbo’s home. Thirteen dwarfs are counted before Gandalf knocks on the door; Bilbo is flustered but soon has explanation as to why dwarfs are in his home. Bilbo is Chosen to go on the adventure with them because he is the " Burglar" that can take the ancient treasure.
